After you tap Install — what next? ▾ Tap here to open

Tapping the button only downloads the profile. iOS will not turn it on until you finish the steps below.

  1. When Safari asks "This website is trying to download a configuration profile", tap Allow.
  2. iOS shows "Profile Downloaded". Tap Close.
  3. Open the Settings app. Near the top tap Profile Downloaded. (If you don't see it: Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.)
  4. Tap Install in the top-right, enter your passcode, and tap Install again on the red "not signed" warning.
  5. Confirm by going to Settings → General → VPN, DNS & Device Management → DNS. Ultra DNS should be selected.
Must be Safari. Tapping this link from Discord, Slack, Twitter, or any in-app browser will silently fail. Open hsultra.up.railway.app in Safari directly.
"Not signed" warning? It is all good, as expected. Tap Install.
Reinstalling? Remove the old profile first (Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → Ultra DNS → Remove Profile).
Other DNS apps win. NextDNS, Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, AdGuard, etc. will override this profile. Disable or remove them first.

How to set this up on Android ▾ Tap here to open

Android does not have a built-in profile system, so we use a free open-source app called Intra (made by Jigsaw, a Google subsidiary).

  1. Tap Get Intra on Play Store and install it.
  2. Tap Copy HS Intra URL.
  3. Open Intra. Tap the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right.
  4. Tap "Choose a DNS-over-HTTPS server", then "Custom server URL".
  5. Paste the URL.
  6. Go back to the main screen and tap the big play button to connect. Android will ask for VPN permission once — tap OK.
  7. You'll see a small key icon in your status bar — that means it's working. Launch Hero Scrolls.
"VPN" prompt? No traffic leaves your phone through a tunnel. The persistent key icon is normal.
Already using a VPN? Android only allows one VPN-style app at a time. Disconnect NordVPN / ExpressVPN / WARP / etc. before connecting Intra.
To turn it off: open Intra and tap the stop button. To remove it entirely, uninstall the app.
Battery: Intra adds minimal drain (maybe 1–2% per day). It only processes DNS, not your full traffic.
